Founded by Deara Okonkwo, (documentary to the right), with the vision on recycling the knowledge of various arts disciplines from studying at Debbie Allen's Dance Academy. With the support of her mother, Kendra Okonkwo, and aunt Delores, Deara Okonkwo was able to establish DeDe Dance Studio on her Super Sweet 16! She is not only a dance instructor for her students, but a
mentor, friend a big sister to many of the children. She is their leader and they model her footpath to become reputable agents of change themselves.
